Book Description
ISO 9000: the international standard on quality systems. An
updated version of Measurement and Calibration for Quality
Assurance (1991) which was based on the (now obsolete) British
Standard BS 5750. This revised version is based on the latest
international quality assurance standard ISO 9000 now adopted by
industry around the world. The approach of this book is to present
the subject of quality assurance first, introducing the problems
concerned with product quality and the interpretation of the
imposed requirements and standards involved. This is followed by a
discussion of the measurement and calibration procedures and
equipment necessary for the operation of the mechanisms for
assessing the sources of measurement error and quantifying their
effect. A series of separate chapters is devoted to each of the
commonly measured quality-related quantities.
